Colors

The most known and widespread color for the Japanese Akita is the red and white. Then, we have the white coat which is accepted in the standards but is a covering gene that hides the colors. We also have the brindles with multiple hues. We should not forget the sesame (red and white with black fur on the back) which is increasingly rare.

You can find the race standards here: http://www.fci.be/Nomenclature/Standards/255g05-en.pdf
